Leslie Ashburn went to Japan to teach English and happily discovered Macrobi Garden in Osaka run by the Naka's. She was having a hard time adjusting to the Japanese culture and was also suffering from allergies and weight gain, but when she started studying Kushi Macrobiotics, a whole new beautiful world opened up to her, alleviating the physical complaints and deeply enhancing the spiritual part of her life. She has returned to Honolulu to share what she has learned about "Samurai Macrobiotics" with people living in Hawai'i.
Her mission is to make the world a better place by teaching macrobiotic principles. She'd like to share a sense of hope with students and tools to achieve how the body and mind can heal without surgeries and drugs. By changing our diets, we can gain radiant health, beauty and well-being. Long term health is a daily journey integrating spiritual values, diet, and lifestyle. Changing one's diet can change one's life and destiny for the positive, helping us seek and discover the divinity and oneness within and to feel this in all facets of our lives and in the world around us. In doing so, we'll build a community in the Honolulu area sharing similar goals, values, and dreams.
